KINDERSPIEL PIANO DUO AT THE OLD CHURCH

Event description

Come and enjoy a relaxing afternoon while listening to beautiful music from 4:30pm on Saturday 9th April in the historic Old Thomson Brook Church.

Bring some nibbles and your favourite cold drink or a thermos to enjoy during the performance, and feel free to dress to support the event by wearing a loud shirt. 

Sit back, close your eyes and be transported into a fairy tale with the classical piano music of the Kinderspiel Piano Duo, Kai Laird and Joyce Zhou.

Kai will start the program with music from Bartok, followed by Joyce playing a range of pieces by Beethoven, Heller, Scarlatti and Telemann.

The two will then play as a duo, telling the story of an adventure through the forest to a lake beneath a mountain.

Kai and Joyce first met when they were five years old.  As they both have such love for music and enjoy spending time with each other, they started performing the piano as a duo. Kai likes playing the secondo part, and Joyce enjoys playing the primo part!

Kai plays the piano, cello, and drums.  His favourite composer is Bela Bartok and Stravinsky, and is currently on a mission to learn all of the pieces from Bartok Children's Pieces.  He is currently studying piano under the tutelage of Robert Laird, and cello under Stephanie Jeffries.
